LST Galaxia is an interactive educational game recently selected as an EdTech “Cool Tool” award finalist for 2020. After logging in, students create an avatar, then proceed to navigate their way across the campus of Galaxia Academy, a virtual school, solving problems and performing tasks that teach and reinforce important social skills and Social/Emotional Learning.

Purpose/Use/Notes:

LST Galaxia is designed to prevent bullying, cyberbullying, substance use, and violence among middle school youth. Students review, apply, and practice bystander skills, coping skills, empathy for others, and appropriate usage of social media use (including texting). The game incorporates skills taught in Botvin LifeSkills Training, an evidence-based prevention program currently taught in eighth grade health classes in the Granite School District. This Social/Emotional Learning curriculum can easily be used with both in-person and distance learners. I am not aware of any comparable software/website access currently available to the District.
