Purpose/Use/Notes:

The FA special education students (severe disabilities) I work with have been historically unsuccessful with traditional SEL skill instruction and experience high levels of stress and disruptive/ dangerous behaviors. These videos will be used daily to teach self-regulation skills. Many of the students have Autism and struggle with motor/neurological connections, in addition to emotional awareness. Students will engage in stimming behaviors to self-regulate but these activities would be a more functional solution. This program works with the parasympathetic nervous system to help students deescalate and reduce stress. This increases engagement and reduces disruptive behaviors in school. The videos are significantly more appropriate for secondary students with disabilities than other "children's meditation programs". I have used an older version in the past and it was very helpful in getting students to relax and focus before transitions.
