This website provides students with access crucial skills practice for a variety of grade levels. The website offers a live play game mode. In addition you may assign students individual practice in areas where extra support is needed. This website provides students with much needed fluency practice in areas that they need to master to succeed in other math areas.

Purpose/Use/Notes:

Our school as had much success with using 99math. We have used this website in math groups to differentiate the skills that our students need to practice. We are able work on addition/subtraction skills or extend it to multiplication and division for higher groups. It is also great for assigning practice for students in areas that they need. While the district has iready adaptive learning, that measures a variety of things and 99math focuses just on fluency. We know "drill and kill" is not a best teaching practice, but students need to be fluent in their math facts in order to be proficient in other areas. This website provides teachers a way to practice math skills as needed in different formats. It is an engaging website that the students want to use. Just using iready is not enough. For a 10 minute a day practice it allows students to increase their fluency and allows teachers to pull other kids during that time.
